Efficacy of Topical 2% Clindamycin Gel Versus 5% Nicotinamide Gel in Patients with Mild to Moderate Acne

Objective: To compare the efficacy of topical 5% Nicotinamide gel versus 2% Clindamycin in patients with mild to moderate acne.
 Study Design: Comparative cross-sectional study.
 Place and Duration Study: Department Dermatology, Combined Military Hospital, Quetta Pakistan, from Jan Jun 2019.
 Methodology: Patients acne were enrolled study. A total 372 randomly equally divided into two groups, Group-A (Clindamycin) Group-B (Nicotinamide). Response treatment was graded according Acne Global Severity Score. Scoring done both groups at start after eight weeks therapy.Therapy considered efficacious if there least 2 step improvement post-therapy scores compared pre-therapy scores.Results: Total number included 372. (Clindamycin-Group) had 186 patients, which 67 males,and 119 females. In (Nicotinamide-Group), out 62 males, 124 Regarding results, found be 31% efficacious, whereas 34.7% (pvalue=0.127).
